Wiring Your House and a Three-Way Switch

Building a home takes a lot of planning and a lot of though put into the little details. Where you put your power switch places and can not seem to matter, but when you start placing the furniture and turn on the lights and other electronics, it will. Taking time to plan the wiring of the house always pays in the long run.

If you're not sure where everything is going to go in the house the best thing to do is place the output on every wall. Wiring your home in this way will allow for great flexibility on where your furniture. Also, putting all branches feet from the floor, it will make them easily accessible. Switches are best placed where you enter a room, so you can turn on the light as it comes and you will not be stumbling around in the dark.

must determine where the fixed lighting will go next. Canned lighting is suitable for surfaces such as kitchen and family room. It is best to put the canned lighting dimmer switch, because sometimes it can seem too bright. Ceiling fans with light fixture are another option to consider. There is a wide selection to choose from, and the fan is nice for a light breeze on a hot night.

Once you've made all the decisions about the branches, switches and fixtures is best to draw a plan for each room to be wired. Then you can easily make a list of materials you will need.

This is also the time to decide if you want to be three times the switch is installed. They can be useful for rooms with two entrances, so you can turn on and off lights on both sides.

the only real difference in the regular switch and three times the switch is that the two switches on opposite sides of the room hooked up with what is called a traveler wire. You will have one end pulled the wires travel through both boxes at each entrance to the room. Then just a matter of twisting the wires from the passenger with a regular wire, matching up colors, and then wiring a switch normally. When you look at the switch only difference is that it will have twice the wiring on one side.

Once the planning is done and all their materials bought you start wiring your home.

Keep in mind that to make sure the power is off before you start.
